Mac Mac Falls is a twin waterfall in Mpumalanga, where the Mac Mac River drops 65 meters into a deep gorge.
It was once a single fall, but then split into two during the gold rush when miners blasted the rock in search of gold. Today, it is surrounded by lush indigenous forest and is a popular stop along the Panorama Route, with many picnic spots, beautiful rolling hills and a variety of great places to swim nearby.
Our Mac Mac Falls poster - along with the waterfall framed by indigenous bush, showcases some of the areas wildlife including a troop of baboons, a soaring Verreaux's Eagle and the famous Piet My Vrou (Red Chested Cuckoo).
